Are you okay with Whitrix and I getting admin rights? We have talked about requesting admin rights to get rid of the spam posts and make other needed corrections to the wiki that can only be done as admin.
Sorry for the late (and redundant reply since I see you got admin rights, congrats!!) I've been really busy with irl stuff so I haven't been watching the Wikia as much but I'm happy that you've gone ahead and gotten admin rights now. I'm so pleased to see how much the Wikia has grown since Whitrix and yourself had taken on the daunting task of picking up where I left off, it brings me joy to see how much improvement you've both made and continue to create and improve on.
I hope that you're still enjoying working on the wikia and still having fun in BDO!
I hope you don't mind me (and MerrianMay it seems) expanding the wiki without asking you.
As for me, I'm going to keep creating pages for the various areas of the game with descriptions taken from the official knowledge section. While I want to fill everything that should already be here in order to write about the most recent additions, I'll be doing a bit of both every day. That, lore pages for history and organizations and correcting already existing pages (old nomenclature, wrong information, adding references, etc).
Thank you for taking the time to write to me but also for expanding, correcting and generally improving this Wikia! I've been noticing a flurry of pages being updated by you and MerrianMay and I'm happy to see others reading and improving upon the very bare bones that I've tried to build for the Wikia.
I think you've been doing a great job and I hope you have fun knowing that you help everyone that visits the Wikia for info on BDO. I also hope you're having fun in BDO too! Keep up the great work! :D
There seems to be someone actively defacing some BDO WIkia pages. I've twice reverted unpleasant things posted on the Dark Knight class page, as well as reverting changes on the Striker page. I've not looked at others but the user involved in that seems to be going from page to page.
I discovered the german wiki a few days ago and found its english twin as well. Now I'm planning on working in the german BDO Wikia and wanted to ask, if there's a possibility that we could use your categorie layout? Like how you sorted the main index tabs into adventure, world, etc. That'd be for great use.
Hi. I have been playing BDO for about a month now on US servers. I am trully loving the game but I feel like the information is scattered and sorely lacking. I have already been going through and adding a few things to the wiki, and I hope to get it a little better off. I hope I can be of help to you.
Hey there! First of all, thank you guys for starting a wikia. So much information is scattered everywhere. I would love to help to make this the go-to place for everyone's BDO needs.
I saw that there are quite a few translated KOR/RU screenshots. I was wondering if there's a need for updated ones? KOR/RU versions are quite different from NA/EU version. So I was unsure to which version this will be dedicated.
Yes, there's a great need for updated NA/EU screenshots. We'd like the BDO Wikia to be tailored for the NA/EU client so it would be great if anyone could provide some updated english screenshots! Thank-you for taking interest and helping to build a better BDO wikia. :D
I've started playing and realized the BDO wiki is having pages which are orphaned and not option to add general information.
I would suggest to
1. update the menu bar to include a "General" point under "Life" which links to "Housing" or better (for updating and expanding the wiki without needing help from an admin each time so the risk of future orphan pages decreases) just have "General" link to a page that can then be edited for whatever is missing or orphaned.
2. Rename "Black Spirit" into "Lore" and make it a link so we can sort and expand to the lore section easily. Right now there is no way of doing this without an admin and the entry "Black desert" has no point in being under "Black spirit" if I understand the term correctly.
3. For future-proofing the menu I would in general suggest to have any of the menu main items point to websites instead of making sub-items. Nothing can be added or updated so if an admin turns inactive everyone is screwed.
I'd be happy to help update and have done on many games I played here on wikia so please consider my suggestions to help make this possible for me and others for the future. Thanks!
I was going to try and make you an admin but I didn't have the rights to, thank-you for contacting Odie and congrats! I'm very new to Wikia as a poster but I was the only one around trying to get the wikia up and going before english release, so I got made into an admin. Keep up the great work! :D
